Our Masks
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
This project is a visual commentary on the societal pressure women often face to present a curated, idealised version of themselves. It explores the idea of identity, performance, and social conformity. The idea is not only to question the notion of what is considered beautiful but also highlight the emotional and psychological impact of constantly having to present oneself through a filtered or constructed lens.

Constructing Moments in Time
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
This series of photographs celebrate the clashes of architectural styles and periods in London and show the contrasts between historical and modern buildings. This large body of experimental work has enabled the photographer to be creative in observing different compositional ideas for the work. The theme of this project focuses on how London has a series of architectural micro identities that change as we transit through the city, experiencing both historical and modern buildings in our urban environment.

Culture and Light
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
The concept for my project revolves around culture and its influence on my identity. I aimed to narrate my story of growing up with the rich cultural backgrounds of my Jamaican and Mauritian families. Both cultures have instilled in me a profound sense of freedom and joy through their vibrant life, lively music, and delicious food. One of my earliest memories is of a joyful gathering with my family, surrounded by the flavours of my culture, dancing, and music. As I have grown, I realize that these experiences have contributed significantly to my happiness, with my community fostering a strong sense of belonging, and I intended to convey these roots in a fun and colourful manner.
Behind Closed Doors
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
This project explores how two sides of the same person interact with the world around them. One is the subject's public persona, which does its best to avoid public embarrassment, and the other is the private persona that is safe and secure, feeling free from the pressures of fitting in. The visual narrative is told from a point-of-view perspective with the camera at times covertly invading the space, showing the public persona aware of being photographed, and the private persona convinced it is alone. The photographs allow the mannerisms of these two personas to be freely expressed and compared, making a point about how things on the face of it may not always be as they seem.
VOGUE: Elegance Under the Burning Sun
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
My project reimagines Vogue through a modern lens, blending vintage-inspired fashion with bold editorial photography and digital collages. It explores themes of femininity, strength and self-expression using black and white portraiture and nostalgic styling. The combination of vintage textures and modern silhouettes allow each model’s presence to shape the narrative, making them not just subjects but central characters in a wider visual story. Through layered visuals and driven styling, the magazine presents fashion as both a form of personal expression and a reflection of culture.

A Motion on Masculinity
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
In this project I am hoping to create work that is about a crisis of masculinity and how it affects one’s identity and their wellbeing. This masculinity crisis is present in many men around the world and is the cause of them keeping emotions contained within themselves in fear of being ridiculed. According to the male stereotype, men are expected to grow up, become bread winners and be the rock for other people. This work explores a masculinity in crisis by incorporating the movement and dance of men as an urgent and expressive form of non-verbal communication.

Break Away Beauty
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
This project explores the idea of breaking away from society’s high and unrealistic beauty standards and offers instead an unglorified look at beauty advertising which challenges these norms. Makeup is often used as a tool to completely alter someone’s appearance, but in this case, it is used in a very messy way to emphasise that real beauty isn’t about perfection.
Contrasting colours have been a key focus for this project to create a series of unconventional beauty looks and an expressive atmosphere. The idea of capturing reflections in compact make-up mirrors is an interesting and distorted way of showcasing the idea of our dysfunctional beauty standards and the pressures young women face.

Unspoken Truth - What’s Behind the Mask?
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
The concept of this project revolves around the idea that society conditions people to hide certain emotions, to put on façades for the world. But beneath those polished exteriors are stories, feelings, and moments of truth that deserve to be seen. By exploring this, the work creates a space for people to express themselves without pretence, embracing the beauty of naturalism in human expression. By leaving the subjects to find their own pose for the camera, the photographs convey an authentic representation of people as they are, not as they think they should be.

Fragments of a Face
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
This project explores the idea of today's social standards and the pressures of the accepted norms in society. It is shown how inner insecurities can affect someone's self-perception and how distorted self-image is very common due to things like social media and comparing ourselves to others.
The weaving technique used reflects how easy it is for us to hide behind a mask whilst everyone’s natural beauty has the potential to be unravelled and embraced, so throughout this project the highlighted message is that it is normalised for people to be hiding behind a mask due to insecurities taking over which causes people to forget embracing their natural beauty.

Pure Black Excellence
LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE (PHOTOGRAPHY)
This project ‘Pure Black Excellence’ is about celebrating the hidden talents of Black individuals and underlining the importance of showcasing those who are often doubted or overlooked in society. The aim is to challenge the stigmas and stereotypes often placed on today’s youth by highlighting that young Black children have their own aspirations and dreams, each striving for greatness in their own unique way.
Inspiring children to pursue what they love and being a role model they can proudly look up to is essential in shaping their future. The main objective of this project is to showcase the next generation of black youth who will grow to be independent individuals who excel in their own unique environments, while celebrating their achievements, no matter how small.
